Front
242, the undisputed godfathers of electronic body
music have been an inspiration for fans and artists alike for nearly 30
years. From revolutionary beginnings as the premier exponent of
European body music, they have never sat still, pioneering and
experimenting with countless variations of electronica from techno to
ambient soundscape while always on top of their game.

The
self-coined term 'Bodypop' perfectly sums up the inimitable sound of
Germany's legendary And One. Part old school
body music, part bubblegum
kitsch, they have crafted their own unique world of surreal, bombastic
electropop. Almost 20 years of hits plus Steve Naghavi's unparalleled
skills as a frontman have ensured that And One
remain THE
European festival act to catch this summer. |

Originally
inspired by the seminal movie Bladerunner, SkinjoB has
become a regular name in the electronic music scene with various
remixes gracing playlists and charts around the world for such bands as
XPQ-21 and KiEw. New original material is starting to make it's way
into the scene hive mind with the first heavily EBM influenced
&
politically charged promo CD 'Insects & Metaphors' entering the
Dutch Underground Chart at number one and holding the position for a
month.

Tracks
such as "Hate This", "Void Malign" and "Dirty" have quickly
established Grendel
as dancefloor dynamite in Europe with their unique hybrid of harsh
electronics, stomping beats and ultra catchy melodic hooks. With a new
line-up and a more mature sound Grendel have
steadily grown to deliver on their promise to be THE harsh dance act to
be reckoned with. Simply awesome.

5F-X
need to be seen and heard to be believed. In their own words - "Dear
Earthlings this is an Invasion Warning! This is not a test… the sound
of Robotic-Tribal-Industrial vibrating through the city streets, giant
Wobbles stalking the stage, assimilating everything in its path,
powerful melting music styles catch the humans." Confused? Don't worry,
it will soon all make sense.

An
apocalyptic and fearful view of the world is what Noisuf-X,
the side-project of X-Fusion, is dealing with. It describes a cold and
hopeless atmosphere musically with harsh distorted beats, experimental
sounds and pushing sequences. The recurrent sound structures and its
simple monotony build a catchy opposite to X-Fusion.

Coreline focuses
on contrast, the order and perfection of trance melody and harmony
juxtaposed on the dark chaos of distorted and broken rhythm, the
contrast of an organic aesthetic upon artificial music and the
collision between popular electronic music and electro acoustic
composition are all themes which are being explored in great depth.
Also, he build robots.

From
the early '90s the controversial Tyske
Ludder have
established themselves as pioneers in the European EBM and Dark-Electro
scene. Ever evolving in pursuit of perfection, they have made political
and avant garde artistic statements their 'raison d'etre',
wrapped
in a punishing and hypnotic sonic assualt reminiscent of the classic
Zoth Ommog sound but with killer modern twists.

At
first glance you might be forgiven for thinking that Marsheaux
are Greece's answer to Client or Ladytron but their lush melodic
electropop nails the spirit and sound of 80s new romanticism in ways
most of the grave-robbing electroclash set never could. Marsheaux
certainly have the songs to back up the look - a knockout catalogue
that will make you fall in love with synthpop all over again.
|
 |
Snog
is a rare beast - a politically charged band with a backcatalogue that
matches the intensity and relevance of the themes that fire the
project. Imagine a formidable fusion of Noam Chomsky's
anti-corporatism, the raw electropunk attitude of 16 Volt, a
savage wit and even a dash of country (!) and you'll have *some* idea
of what to expect. A voice for corporate slaves everywhere.

100blumen is
(in his own words) a "one man army that destroys the Western
civilisation with the burning farts of anarchy. Lo fi industrial and
electronica meets the roughness of punk, what you are about to hear is
an edgy fusion of energy and aggression, a sheer outburst of distorted
noise, chopped sequences and hard driving beats. The floral annihilation
awaits you!"

 |
No,
not Satan...Santa! Santa
Hates You
is the wonderfully demented and playful side 'project' of Project
Pitchfork's Peter Spilles so you can put aside any doubts and rejoice
that yet another of the World's biggest darkwave frontmen is about to
take the Infest stage. And if he wants to create a disturbing, surreal,
Lovecraftian, octopus-chewing alter ego we say 'bring it on!'.

 |
Templar
Knights, vampires and immense darkwave sound structures combine in Heimataerde's
mythical world of darkness and mythology. Perhaps the most truly gothic
act on the bill, they immerse the listener in an epic symphony of dark
melancholy and contemporary electro beats. Fans of In Strict
Confidence and the like will be only too happy to submit to this dark
angel.

Easily
the most requested UK act in the history of the festival, Deviant
UK
show no sign of letting up in their quest to take over the World's
darkwave scene while corrupting a few souls along the way.
Imagine
the kind of devilishly dark dancefloor synthpop Gary Numan might be
making if he hadn't decided to be Trent Reznor and you'll see why Deviant
UK are tipped for the UK scene's crown.
